The Laurelhurst PTA sponsors several events and fundraisers throughout the school year. These events and fundraisers rely on parent and student volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, you can learn more here.
No Carnival in 2020 – see you next year!
The Carnival is a community and family event that is not to be missed! Come for the Haunted House, photo booth, and food, in addition to over 20 traditional carnival games. Come dunk a parent or teacher in the dunk tank and win lots of prizes and treats!
The Scholastic Book fair is held in the fall and spring in the school library and offers students and families the opportunity to buy books while supporting the school.
The Fall Book Fair kicks off on Grandparents and Special Friends day.
First Sunday in December – going virtual this year!
The Winter Bazaar is an annual fundraiser held at Laurelhurst School. The Bazaar supports local artisans while raising funds for our school. We pride ourselves on showcasing high-quality artists and providing a supportive and beneficial juried show for our vendors. Come do your holiday shopping!
The gift wrap sale is held in the fall, before the holidays. Students bring home catalogs full of high quality wrapping paper, housewares and other gifts. Orders can be placed online or via order form.
Born from a dance tradition at Laurelhurst, formerly known as the Sock Hop, the new and improved Dance Party allows students from all grade levels to come together with their parents and friends and dance to some loud music in the gym. Food and drink are served, and a fun time is had by all.
We’re looking for a volunteer to run this event – if you’re interested please contact the PTA!
Covered structure permits have been approved by the City and plans are pending final approval from PPS. With the March PTA membership vote to use existing funds, the covered structure is fully funded. The target for installation is *hopefully* summer 2021. Thank you to everyone who donated their time, money, and support to get us to this point!

Corporate Matching Gifts
Did you donate to the PTA or Foundation? Great! Now let’s see if your employer will throw in an additional contribution, making your dollars go further. Follow the link below to search for your employer and get instructions on how to quickly get your gift matched.
Did you know you can turn your bottles and cans into cash for the school?
Blue bags with the PTA’s corresponding barcode are on Becca Smith’s porch at 4128 NE Davis St. They are in a metal kettle. Be sure to grab up to three bags and tags (separate).
Fill your bag (about 75-100 containers, if filled with glass, about half full, 20 lb. limit). Once full, take your bag (limit of two at a time) to a BottleDrop Center. The closest centers are the Hollywood and Hawthorne Fred Meyer. Scan the barcode on the bag to unlock the BottleDrop door, drop you bag in & you are all done!

Then, anytime you go shopping, open the app and click the “scan” button at the bottom of the screen to take a picture of your receipt. It will automatically find any Box Top purchases you made.
